It's Here !!!!!!

Well it's Official - NCCR is LIVE on 87.7 FM from today until Saturday evening. The RSL (Restricted Service Licence) is being operated to coincide with the Moreton Show on Saturday when the studio will move to the show ground to broadcast LIVE from the show. If you are around the area at all please tune in and if you are at the show on Saturday please come and say hello. We shall be broadcasting from a Johnsons bus near the main arena. Also, please do not forget that Classic Cuts moves to 6pm Friday evening for one week only when we shall have 3 Guests in the studio picking the music for "My Classic Cuts". First Update for Ages

First of all, apologies for not updating recently. Time has been really tight and I'm afraid other things have had to take priority. Now then, next week is a very special time for all of us at NCCR as we move onto 87.7 FM from Wednesday for four days on a special Restricted Service Licence. It all culminates in a days LIVE Broadcasting from the Moreton Show. Each day we will be on air from 8am With Pricey and Charlie on the Cooler Breakfast to start the day off. Classic Cuts is also going to be a rather special show next week. Just for one week we move to 6pm Friday night. We will also be having, not one, not two but THREE "My Classic Cuts" interviewees LIVE in the studio. It will be quite a show as none of them have ever been into a studio before so they will be keeping me on my toes :-) Some great music choices and the whole of the local area listening in on FM !!!! Should be a real belter. Also, I must just mention that the show on the last Friday in October is going to be an "All Request" show. Friday is upon us yet again - i must get round to doing these things earlier in the week but due to the fact that i am currently covering 2 - 3 shows a week at present time seems to be very sparse. This week out featured artist are those weird American brothers with the almost inanimate piano player - I talk, of course, of Sparks. The Disco decade and Soul Section appear again this week. There is another episode of Edward Charnel's Nocturnal Journal and a Golden Oldie Number One to Finish. Show for Friday 24th June

Ok, so here goes. This week we are throwing in a bit of a curve ball. A sort of "My Classic Cuts" but with a difference. Classic Cuts has been  at St Davids School in Moreton in Marsh all day today. First thing this morning we went along to witness a very special "Adventure Boot Camp" with Nicki Banks, Debbie Honour and the one and only Daley Thompson. How lucky were we?? Daley very kindly gave a short interview and also picked some music for the show. Later in the morning he opened the school Sports Day and hung around to chat to the children and start some of the races. Well, we were there as well. I have to say that it turned out to be a fantastic day all round and we were lucky enough to grab a few people during the day to have a quick chat with. All this was rounded off with a chat with the Head Teacher Faye Hemming. Classic Cuts 20th May 2011

Where do the days go? It doesn't seem like 7 days since I was last doing this !!!!! Well this week is packed full of good music yet again, featured artists this week are Adam & The Ants (Yippee I hear some of you cry !!) Edward Charnel is back with the next installment of his Nocturnal Journal, The Disco Decade and the Soul Section make their regular appearances and there is also something new and rather unique this week, a little spot I have called "Then and Now". We have been able to obtain a pre-release copy of a track from a band that had huge success in the 80's. After their split the lead singer went on to have chart success on his own. They have just finished a very successful revival tour and the single comes on the back of that. Hi guys, well another week has passed us by and it's nearly time to go on air again. After the toe tapping stuff of the Disco show last week we are sort of back to normal this week, however, instead of a My Classic Cuts selection I have decided to extend the Featured Artist section this week. I have been asked by a number of people over the past months to feature Queen, so , this week you get not 3, not 4, but 5 yes 5 tracks from the legends of Rock. Also there will be the second installment of Edward Charnels' Nocturnal Journal this week focusing on Friday the 13th. Plus all the usual good music and chit chat. Tonight's Show

Apologies for not updating sooner but things have been a little hectic over the past week. A Personal Plea

OK Guys, I know you may think that this is pure cheese but I really think that this song is due for a re-release. Having listened to countless 70s Internet radio stations playing it on a daily basis I really do feel that it deserves a second chance. I hope that you take the same view. My aim is to get the record company to re-release this track through popular demand - even as a charity fund raiser. Please help!!

Show Details

Classic Cuts is a show that goes out every Friday night on North Cotswold Community Radio. Every Friday you can sit back and listen to Two hours of music from the 60s 70s 80s and 90s. Features include The Extended Soul Section, The Disco Decade, One Hit Wonder, The Cover Story and "My Classic Cuts", 4 tracks picked and introduced by a member of the local community. The show is then available on the "Listen Again" facility for 2 weeks from the Saturday morning. Gives us a try - hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised.
